This is so awful. My parents were travelling in Kashmir, too, but fortunately I heard they're ok. My sister called my aunt last night and she confirmed that they were doing fine, but I haven't talked to them yet. It's so frightening to think that this could happen and they could be hurt while I'm on the other side of the world having a regular Friday night. I hope that they get home safely!

it's good to know that they are ok -- i now wonder how india and pakistan are going to handle such devastation. the damage seems bigger than what the media is reporting right now. see this boingboing post.
